I Saw Something Other

Printed posters, 84.1 x 118.9cm, 2013

I’ve thought about this work by Sean Edwards since getting a copy of his for Lal, or Henry book in 2012. Wrapped in red, his poster I Saw Something Else is 1 of 6 pull out posters, which always reminded me of the original version of BS Johnson’s experimental novel The Unfortunates.

A year later I gifted Sean my tongue in cheek misquote version of his own work, revised to be about his first child, Albert.

I’ve had a second alternative misquote version scribbled in my rolodex of works to make for a long time – this comes from a quote by Stephen King which was on one of the first Clive Barker books I read when I was younger – it was scary and changed me forever.

Font used is hellraiser SC, made for the film’s German promotional cinema poster.
